For the past several years, NRAAM (National Rifle Association Annual Meeting) has been on my bucket list! As someone who usually has FOBI (fear of being invited), I had FOMO (fear of missing out) for NRA. This year was my year! My excitement began several weeks before the NRA when I received a message from Anne Mauro, inviting me to the Golden Bullet Awards, as she was receiving “The NRA Woman of the Year” award! I had never heard of the Golden Bullet Awards, but knew it must be the equivalent to the Golden Globes. I did a little fan girl dance around the house.
I was honored to be her guest.

On the first morning of the show, I went straight from the registration desk to the Golden Bullet Awards. Beginning the show with Anne at the Golden Bullet Awards was certainly a highlight. Seeing all the awards being passed out was impressive. It gave a sense of humility knowing I was amongst the pioneers and innovators in the industry.

I thought NRAAM could not get better, but then Charlie Cook asked me to be on his show, Riding Shotgun with Charlie. Again, I did a happy dance and called my mom to tell her about it! It was so much fun to be chauffeured around Atlanta by Charlie Cook while chit chatting. We had so much fun, until…he kicked me out. You will have to watch the episode.

It was exciting to see our sponsors at a consumer show, instead of an industry convention. The energy was relaxed, but rejuvenating and fun. I ended my first NRAAM with The Women’s New Energy Brunch where I met the ladies of the NRA. It was a room full of my heroes. I fangirled, took selfies with them and made life long connections. This was one for the books! Thank you NRAAM for putting on a wonderful show, my friends that help create a perfect experience; one I will never forget.
