Founding WOMA: Where It All Began
In 2009, Deb Ferns saw something missing: women were out hunting, fishing, shooting and doing archery, but the media wasn't telling their stories. So she started the Women's Outdoor Media Association.
This is the story of how WOMA began, from one founder's vision to a community of women who make sure every woman in the outdoors gets seen and heard.
Shooting. Hunting. Fishing. Archery. WOMA was built to champion women in all four, from the first-timer to the national competitor.
Here's the big picture: who we are, why we exist and where we're headed. WOMA is about media, mentorship and community, and making sure the outdoor world has room for every woman who wants to step into it.

That's why we created She Never Quit. It supports female veterans and first responders, the women who served and sacrificed so the rest of us can enjoy the freedoms we pursue in the field, on the range and on the water.
